Picking Teachers

At the Crib, we do not ask our teachers to give us class descriptions. Instead we ask that they feel welcomed and invited to show up and share what is fresh for them and appropriate for the group that lands in their class.

We believe that this is how the Yoga happens. When we show up as our authentic selves we give others the permission and space to do so.

Here you will find descriptions of the teachers and links to their websites, vides and books for further investigation. We ask that you pick 5 top choices with 2 alternates.

We try to provide some direction below, and we are more than delighted to talk with you and help design the prefect schedule together. Meeting you is one of the reasons we throw this event every year, so do not hesitate to call us.

Good Combinations
Just like when you create a good meal, we reccomend pairing spicey teachers with mellow ones, selcting favorites and trying someone new.

It is incredibly difficult and tricky to label teachers by "Levels". As many of you know, the ability to sit and relax can be more difficult and "advanced" than the ability to bring your toes to the back of your head. So we have done our best to generalize styles and approaches. All teachers of course could fall in any of the categories.

SinkIn_and_connect

Chandra Easton's will guide you through the practices of meditation, yin yoga and chanting to cultivate an open state of mind.

Sarah Powers
Sarah Powers
Sarah interweaves the insights and practices of Yoga and Buddhism into an integral practice to enliven the body, heart and mind. Her yoga style blends both a Yin sequence of long held poses to enhance the meridian and organ systems, combined with a flow or Yang practice, influenced by Viniyoga, Ashtanga, and Iyengar teachings. Sarah feels that enlivening the physical and pranic bodies, as well as learning to open to our emotional difficulties is paramount for preparing one to deepen and nourish insights into one's essential nature--a natural state of awareness.
