On Saturday Mornings and Sunday Mornings, we record Stiff White Guy Yoga, our Level 1 Class. You do not need to be white or a guy to be stiff and benefit from an easy accessible class that focused on easing common discomforts and tightness. Originally started in September 2003 for my husband, Eric, the class now attracts a wide range of people from 10 year old girls to 80 year old men. The plain language and simple instructions make starting a yoga practice easy and fun. While mostly beginners, many seasoned veterans still show up because they prefer the relaxed pace, attention to detail and community vibe. We recommend starting your yoga practice here. On Saturday Mornings at 9am, we record Soft Vinasya, our Level 2 Class. Soft Vinyasa is where we start to introduce the practice of linking the postures together in a more continuous flow. We begin to explore more complex techniques that play with the balance of diligent practice and surrender. Watch a Sample Soft Vinyasa Class.
On Monday and Wednesday Mornings at 8:30am, we record our Sweet Vinaysa, our Level 2/3 Class. Sweet Vinaysa assumes a certain level of comfort with coordinating breath and movement and a familiarly with the basics of a vinaysa practice. The level of difficulty will vary from class to class and there are always options given. The emphasis is on diving in deep and uncovering one's own internal alignment. This will deliver between 12 to 14 classes a month and allow you many choices when coming to your practice. Some days you feel like moving rhythmically, some days you want to move slowly and gently.
