I watched ‘Rachel Gets Married’ the other night via Netflix instant play, alone, with headphones on. When the movie was over, I got into bed and cried. And cried.
The story shows how we can allow the dark, needy, parts of ourselves to rule the show. We have a rich colorful interior world full of music and celebration and dance and love inside each of us, but somehow the twisted, sick and chaotic darkness hooks us in.
So how do we make room for our dark sister, see her clearly, even allow her to be our maid of honor, without falling under her spell?
Seems we need to know her first. If she is still unconscious then we might rely on our dreams to bring her forth. Often we are gifted with external versions of her in our lives. The apparently difficult relationships are offered as opportunities to encounter what we might be blind to in ourselves. The temptation is to reject or grab onto her. The practice seems to be allowing her to reveal you to you, thanking her and giving her space.
Thank you Kym and Rachel, two sisters from Connecticut, bound in your opposition to each other, both wanting and needing love. While polarized in your quest, your self acceptance brought you back together.
Yes, yes, YES. The Dark Sister within wants to be Seen, Heard, Accepted, Embraced and Loved for who she Is, exactly how she Is--told that it is Okay to feel what she feels...and Worthy, Deserving of our Deepest Love, and Loved accordingly, through all of the layers--and this is the Key to our Return to Wholeness, Holiness. Where the Light within her heart is touched and illuminated by the Light of our Accepting Love, which she then returns back to Us...and we are Re-United, within. Wholly Loved. The Dark Sister equally Divine as the "Light" sister. All of it Divine. All of it emanating from Source. (Self) Acceptance, Non-Judgement, Compassionate Understanding, Complete Love of the polarized energies within us Lifts us, Unites us beyond the polarization into Oneness.
