Independence

When Kira announced our homework assignment - to look back at our notebooks to the question "what are you interested in" and go learn about it - I was tempted to erase my initial statement: to learn to be independent. How could I research and write about my independence, in a public blog?

Despite my hesitation, I decided to take a deep look at my life - and notice the areas where I am holding tension, holding back. Because of this, I discussed my future with my boyfriend (and we realized we don't have one), talked with my employer about making changes in my job or leaving, and have begun to seriously look into the possibility of moving elsewhere.

I'm sure my relationship with independence will continue to evolve, and there are endless lessons here. That said, this assignment has been a deep push in the right direction and I'm grateful for it.

See you all tomorrow!
