So excited to teach tonight--topic of interest today was the pelvic floor and root chakra, wove the awareness and feeling of "I am safe" into the poses.
Sit, discuss pelvic floor anatomy, tune into it Sukhasana FB with tailbone/root heaviness FB with rotation right and left (mini-yin) Malasana, upright, pelvic floor awareness Cowboy negotiation (sustained on each side) with pelvic floor relaxation Malasana with FB Seated upavhista konasana with connective tissue pull toward feet Explore slight twist/head turn toward each foot Sustained yin upavhista Roll to all 4s, cat/cow with mulabandha (cat) and relaxing pelvic floor (cow) Pigeon (yin)--discuss jaw and pelvic relationship, play with engaging and relaxing mulabandha during pose Caterpillar (yin) Supine rest Knees to chest Supine Vrasana or Baddha Konasana choice (yin) Supine rest Twisted root (mini-yin) Seated meditation Savasana option Namaste
