The Coastal Route
We love taking Route 1 up from LA, but we do it by feel and can never remember the name of the road we take to cross over to the 101. You will be able to figure it out with your GPS or cell phone. Proceed with Directions from the 101.
Via the 101
- Take the 101 Freeway north to Ventura.
- Take Highway 33, 14 miles north to Ojai.
- Bear right at the junction of highways 33 and 150.
- Follow 150 east toward downtown Ojai.
Via the 5
There are several different ways to cross over from the 5 into Ojai. You have two major opportunintes through LA to connect over to the 101 and follow those directions above. Again, depending on traffic and time of day, you might choose to drop in via the 118 or the 126 to the 150. Use your GPS and Google Maps, friends' opinions and your intuition to make a decision. We found Ojai by driving through it "by accident."
Depending on where you are, you might take the 5 to the 126 to the 150. Some people prefer to take the 126 to the 101 and enter Ojai from the West.
Southern California is laid out for the car. And we love our cars here. Nothing is considered walking distance and carpooling risks personal freedom. But we can talk all day about eating local. You are welcome to make fun of us. We are too happy to care.
Truely, however, once you get to Ojai, you do not need a car. Most of the yoga is right in town, walking distance from the Crib HQ, and we will be organizing carpools to the venues up in the hills.
Shuttle Service from LAX, Burbank and Santa Barbara to Ojai door-to-door transportation to and from the airport is available by reservation. The prices range and sometimes it is cheaper to rent a car.

Greyhound
Molly was the last pal of ours to bike here from San Francisco. She lives in the Midwest on a farm now, but she might have some tips. You might be able to find her via her blog, Life in the Slow Lane.
You might also connect in with our local bike shops for information about rolling here on 2 wheels or renting a bike while here:
Once here, there is a local trolley service that rolls around most of Ojai that costs .50 cents to use.
