Some days you just don't feel like standing up. And so it's nice to know that when you come to your mat, you don't have to.
When I thought the practice needed to be hard to "count," I found myself avoiding it. Allowing the practice to meet us where we are establishes an open and loving relationship.
This 64 minute practice emphasizes forward folds and twisting from the root. We start with sukhasana and an easy seated twist to establish the mood. We open up the side waist and offer ourselves to upavistha konasana. We geek out in janu sirsasana playing with some variations that emphasize tuning towards the small core postural muscles of the spine.
Eventually we are supine, opening the hips and low back.
We counterpose with bridge.
Instead of savasana, we sit for about 10 minutes together. (But of course, you are welcome to do savasana instead).
Once purchased, your abhyasa video will appear in "My Lulu Library."
this was a perfectly sweet practice to help me ease back into asana after a spotty hatha practice during preceeding 8 months of new baby care! Thank you
